Isa Khan from Shiraz was the chief architect of the monument, and the famous artists of the time, Austin from Bordeaux and Veroneo from Venice, assisted him. According to a legend, after the Taj Mahal was built, Shah Jahan cut off the right hand of architect Isa Khan so that he would not create another work like this. Today it is India s most visited tourist destination. However, the distorted construction around it threatens the future of this historical monument. The Taj Mahal, which can be clearly seen from many points of the city where it is located, is among the most important works of Turkish-Islamic Architecture. There are also 42 emeralds, 142 rubies, 625 diamonds and 50 very large pearls on the walls of the Taj Mahal, where hundreds of thousands of agate, mother-of-pearl and turquoise are buried. Fascinating everyone with its romantic appearance and an inspiration to many famous writers and poets from the East and the West, the Taj Mahal appears brighter than the moon even on moonlit nights. Fatehpur Sikri, which was the capital of the Mughal Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Akbar Shah, dating back to the 16th century, where everything is in its place and we can literally call it a ghost town. 40 km from Agra. This city, which was founded as far west as 1570-1586, was the capital of the Mongolian Empire during the reign of Emperor Akbar. It was later abandoned. Today it is a perfectly preserved ghost town. According to the most dominant story told about the foundation of this city, Emperor Akbar Shah goes to visit Selim Chisti, who is known as a saint in this city called Sikri, and complains that he has no sons and that he has no heir to leave the throne. Later, Chisti gives her the good news that she will have a son. The emperor names one of his three sons, the name of the saint Selim, after the name of the saint. Later on, he establishes a new, organized, planned city and moves the capital there, giving it the name Fetihpur Sikri. Shortly after this, they migrate from here, presumably due to lack of water. The remnants of this failed attempt can be seen nearby. The Qutub Minar is the tallest brick minaret in the world, standing at a height of 72.5 metres. It takes 379 steps to reach the top of the tower but the passage is closed to tourists.
